Give Yourself Permission To:
Laugh out loud
Enjoy the crowd
Do a little dance
Give life a chance
Sleep in late
Vegetate
Fall in love
Not work so hard
Love yourself
Not hurt so much
Live carefree
Be who you are
Reach for the stars
In your writing life, what do you have to give yourself permission to do?

I give myself permission to be all the characters I've wanted to be in real life, to say the things I've been afraid to say and to fight winning battles that I feel I've lost in real life.
Great list. I have given myself permission to write! It doesn't mean I'm wasting time or neglecting my family. It makes me a better person.
To write, where I have a voice to say whatever I want, be whoever I like. It's a beautiful thing.
I agree with Angie. Too often, I am embarrassed if I have spent the afternoon writing, when I "should" have been cleaning, doing laundry, or cooking. I try to cover the fact that I have been doing "nothing." Like Angie, I hereby give myself permission to be a writer, even if I'm not getting paid to do it!
@Donna
Good for you! At least you have an outlet in this way.
@Angie
I find that I have had to allow myself to write as well, even if I neglect my household chores, etc. I do not neglect my family, but now I make the time to write and read, and not feel guilty about it.
That's very beautiful, Ana. Giving ourselves permissions like that... it's such an important concept.
Lovely new profile photo too!
@Lori
I am glad you liked it. Throughout my life I have had to give myself permission to do things, and one day I just asked myself, "Why?" I should be able to do what I want, things that make me happy. I have applied that especially now to my writing. I give it more priority now. Other things can wait.
I like your profile picture too.
Wonderful list. I give myself permission to "screw up" once in a while, and then forgive myself. Sometimes I'm my own worst critic.
