This quote hit the spot for me because it is one of the reasons why I write, especially when I am facing a problem or I am going through an emotional rollercoaster. Once I see the words on the paper, it is like a weight has been lifted and now the problem, issue, whatever, is on the piece of paper. I can now more objectively look at it, and hopefully come up with a solution and/or feel better, with less "clutter" in my head. Some questions to ask yourself: Does writing motivate you to take some action based on what you wrote? Does it help you resolve an issue, problem, something you had been putting off?
There are other things I feel after I write, and it may not always make me feel better. Sometimes writing about one thing, brings out other things. Writing makes me feel:
Relief
At peace
More confused
Less confused
Creative
Alive
Able to conquer the world
Sad
Happy
Motivated/Inspired
Problem solver
What feelings does writing invoke in you?

Writing gives me a sense of fulfillment, power, emotional release and contentment. It's the time when I feel the most "like me". I wish I spent more time writing. Too many hectic days around here :) Thanks Ana.
Writing is my therapy. It's what keeps me sane, brings me joy and a sense of accomplishment even if it's never published.
When I was a counselor, I taught my clients the simple thing of making lists and from there finding connections and solution. Writing your feelings or problems down makes things much clearer.
Hi Ana:
When I am able to write about a topic of my choice (which as a freelance writer, is usually ...) writing makes me feel excited. I absolutely love being able to choose my topics and the format (periodical, book, etc.) in which I will tackle it. Wrote a magazine feature last week and that was great. Will begin the editing process on my book (completed manuscript) later this month, and am waiting to hear from my agent as to whether I've polished my proposal sufficiently for my upcoming book to enable her to take it to market. Having that variety makes the writing process so satisfying and rewarding.

That is great that writing provides that to you, so even if you have hectic days, take the time to write at the end of the day!
@Donna
Writing serves the same purpose for me. I get whatever it is out of my head and unto the page. Especially when I am emotionally charged, writing my feelings out is a great stress reliever.

Wow! All that is very exciting. All the best in all your writing endeavors.
