Hello, my name is Ana. Welcome to my blog! I started this blog to motivate my writing, document my journey into the writing world and to share what I find along the way. I aspire to be a published author of a fiction or non-fiction novel. I have recently changed the direction of this blog, and even though I will post writing related information, I also want to write about self-interest topics. I want my blog to be more about who I am as a writer. Thank you for visiting and please sign my guestbook at the bottom.
"Peace of mind is ultimately achieved only when the characters opt out of active emotional involvement in life and accept the fate they have been given.” -- James Higgins, author
Hmmm. That's an interesting quote. It's true that you have to learn to accept where you are at, but I'd hate to opt out of emotional involvement in life. As far as characters go, they can't achieve peace of mind until after the conflict is resolved, I think. Anyway, very thought provoking. I love that picture.
@Angie I liked this quote because it really makes you think. Is it a trade off that to have peace you have to "opt out of active emotional involvement in life"? This would be like "rolling with the punches" in life and "going with the flow". I am always in search of spiritual peace and I try to not get too "grounded" on things I cannot do anything about at the time. I look at it like this: Should I really let this get to me? Will this matter tomorrow? And if this was my last day on this earth, is it really worth spending it frustrated at something or someone?
A friend of mine sent me this picture and I loved it too.
